Daniel Guggenheim has been teaching for more than 30 years. His teaching reaches well beyond saxophone playing: jazz harmony, improvisation concepts, phrasing, sound development and ensemble work — all of this for instrumentalists of every kind and for singers who want to step into the world of modern jazz.
Since 1987 he has been teaching saxophone and ensemble at the FMW (Frankfurter Musikwerkstatt). He brings this long-standing practice into workshops, band coaching and masterclasses at renowned institutions — including the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt, the Lucerne School of Music, the “E:Mu” programme in La Plata (Argentina) and various big bands.
At the centre of his work is the question of how individual musical personality and solid craft grow together. Those who work with Daniel Guggenheim learn structures — and learn at the same time to step out of them. Requests for workshops, band coaching and masterclasses are always welcome via the contact page.
